If you guys don’t know, I am doing DLTA (Discipleship & Leadership Training Academy) a 4 month program where we are learning kingdom identity, characteristics of God and walking through healing of past experiences. Throughout this first week of DLTA the Lord has been comforting me by just confirming things I have been walking through and learning this summer.

                  (My DLTA team)

This summer I was learning about battles, the ones that are just so annoying, they might be the serious battles or might just be the silly ones. But God started to pave the way by bringing up the verse 2 Chronicles 20:15, “Thus says the Lord says to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the battle is not yours but Gods” and the song Battle Belongs by Phil Wickham, ” When all I see is the battle, You see my victory”. This verse and song showed me that we give to much power to, and focus to much on, the battles but if we see in the perspective that the Lord sees, He literally only sees our victories, so why not change our perspective from ours (normally negative) to God’s (never negative).

A month later, God being who he is, The Provider, brought up the story with Jesus reaching his hand out to Peter (Mathew 14:31.) I was able to discern from my own experiences that it tied in exactly with the song and verse from before. It ties in because Peter was in the midst of a storm which I thought of battles being rocky, like a storm and us believers being focused on God and what he sees. When Peter was focused on the Lord, he could walk on water and he was not distracted, and did not focus on the battles. Once we have learned how to trust the Lord in the battles we are able to not focus on the battles in front of us but on Him.  And then we can help others to focus on Him with their battles as well.

So throughout the summer and coming into DLTA, he has been bringing up these verses randomly in my eyes random but in his eyes a purpose. The most recent aspect he has put in my heart is finding peace even when the storm is going on.
